Default Enough PSU for 8800 GT SLI?

Hi all,

I have a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510W link, and was wondering if it would be enough to run a second 8800 GT.

I have 2 1GB sticks of DDR2 800, 1 SATA drive, 1 7200 rpm hdd, 1 5400 rpm hdd, 1 dvd burner and 1 cd burner (which I barely use...). I also have 2 120 mm fans running at roughly half-speed. All this is getting powered through an APC Back-UPS XS.

I've looked through the forums and seen users utilizing PSU's in the low 600's for GTX's in SLI, and they haven't seen any issues. I know the GT's use noticeably less power.

The Extreme PSU Calculator seems to say I have enough.

What do you guys think?

I can't currently afford the PSU, and the special ends later today (April 8th). So should I splurge or not? Please weigh in with your thoughts.

Thanks.

I would buy them anyway, even if your PSU isn't enough, you can keep the second card for later untill you save some money for a new power supply. They are not that expensive now a days. Thermaltake toughpower 600W or something like 650W will surely be enough.

What mobo and CPU d'ya have? With a Duo it should be OK, but you'll probably find your PSU fan spins up while playing games and they tend to be quite loud. If you've got a quad and you're overclocking, you're pushing it.

Well I wanted to go for it, but within a few hours of the end of the sale the vendor stopped allowing people to add it to their orders (It had been out of stock for a few days already).

Oh well.
