Default Laptop Suggestions

I'm going to need a laptop for college in a few months, I'm just kinda browsing looking at random ones on newegg. So, can anyone throw me some nice brands and/or specific models in the $500-$700 range? Gaming capability is not necessary, but maybe some occasional CS:S would be nice. Hard drive size doesn't matter much, as I'll keep most everything on my desktop.

Also, anyone have an Asus Eee PC? I know they're not as powerful as normal laptops, but I'm considering the new 9 inch model coming out soon.
