Default 790i Ultra question

I am buying the 790i Ultra and i was wondering if it supports 1333MHz speed ram?

I have hear x,y and z when it comes to what it actually supports. I dont really want to have to mod it an anyway to get it to support that speed.

Thanks.

Yes it does support 1333mhz and 1600mhz and 1800mhz and probably 2000mhz. Although i'm not sure if there is any on the market yet.
Just looked on the side of the box. It does indeed support 2000mhz DDR3.

That's where you overclock. You don't need to have the Memory and CPU using the same clocks. It is like free horse power.

Yah i don’t think that I would be very comfy doing that at the moment. I will stick with 1333MHz memory. Is there much of a power diff between 667MHz memory and 1333MHz memory. by power i mean performance

It's like everything the higher the clocks (excluding Cas Latency's) the faster it will run.

In one of my other Threads I was just told that DDR3 memory isn’t as good as DDR2.

I believe this puts your theory out the window m8.

I don't think you understand what i was saying. DDR3 1800 is faster than DDR3 1333. Higher numbers= higher speeds. You can't debate this. I don't know why you changed my original post, but I mentioned Cas latency, not cache. As far a cas latency goes lower numbers are faster.
I never even mentioned DDR2.

sorry about the change (spellcheck)

I was asking the difference between 667MHz memory and 1333MHz memory. DDR2, DDR3

There are a few reviews around comparing the two.

Yes! 1% I totally needed that one percent to get 200 FPS in COD4! LOL
so i spent 90 euro more for this memory and I get 1 percent more power. well at least I have that one 1%.

By the way this review is very good. Its clear and to the point.
thanks Muppet.
