Default 173.08 - Thanks for fixing texture corruption

I'm one who was a little upset about the texture corruption in Unreal Tournament 2004 (and others, but that's the only one that I have that was affected).

Thanks for fixing the DXT5 corruption, no more artifacts in UT2004 for me.

With enough people bashing nVidia for crappy Linux drivers, it is nice to see a thank you. I happen to be very thankful that nVidia makes fairly decent drivers for Linux. Thanks!!!

Indeed, the release notes was how I knew the problem was fixed and the reason I upgraded my driver.

Looks like my bug report sinks down into oblivion, while this cheering thread stays on top. So I'd like to remind everyone, especially the nvidia coders, that one of the texture bugs may be fixed, but not all of them. This last beta is still totally unusable, just like all the other drivers after 100.14.19: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=111839

since there is a simple workaround 'totally unusable' is a lie, isn't it?

First: I wrote this entry before I found the workaround, as you can see on the date (if you are familiar with this concept).

Second: yes, it's totally unusable if the whole sky and several other textures in a flight simulator have psychedelic colors -- when I can't see the airport through this color pattern, and so can't land.

Not that I owe you an explanation.
