I just installed the nVidia drivers for my GeForce3 Ti200, and at first thought I had killed X. Then after letting it sit for about 5 minutes after issuing the command "startx", X finally started up and everything ran fine and dandy. Anybody know why this might be happening?
Checked my log files and no errors are listed. I'll post my XF86Config-4 file tomorrow as I'm in Windows right now. |

I've red some place, I think is in the FAQ section of the readme file that there is a setting for searching LCD, CRT and TV monitors plugged into your PC, and for default this settings make your divers look for each of this devices until he recognizes one and continue with loading, perhaps you can tried configuring it to avoid searching for those you don't have plugged and perhaps you load time will decrease a lot.

Thanks vikool, that worked like a charm, X loads instantly now.
For anybody too lazy to go to the other thread: to fix the long load problem, go into your X config file, and in the DEVICES section add the following code: Code:
Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" "DFP,TV" |
