Please help:nvidia 7100 gs...impossible to play games
 This is my (sad) situation nvidia 7100 gs turbocache(256mb..real are 64mb) kernel 2.6.21.5 slackware 12 xorg 7.3pre(official X of slackware) nvidia latest drivers I i play games with wine(fifa 07 for example) the game become really slow and unplayable,i don't know how to explain in english,in italian we said "gioco scattoso" If i reboot the game return fast for the first 15 minutes and then..become slow again! Please help! A little question: Turbocache feature is supported under linux? Thanks |

What is the "same thing" that you're seeing with the driver? If you're expecting further assistance, you'll need to read & follow the instructions in the forum sticky posts (as I noted 2 weeks ago).

Linux or not, you are trying to run games on an rather slow video card that uses system memory which makes it even slower. You then also run it through another layer with Wine which will slow it down even more.
My advice, get a better card without Turbocache or try gaming under Windows. |

I have a new card now,8500gt...and i have
the same problem. Game fast for 10 minutes..then become slow but probably is a bug of fifa 08 and not of card/driver |
