I've ended up getting a Belkin Wireless 'N' mimo router. Seem very good so far, nice and fast connection, very good range. I'll just have to see how it lasts.

dual band router allows you to run two routers in one, a 2.4ghz for backwards compability, and brand new 5.0ghz. nothing else uses 5.0ghz. this also means that if your laptop has a 802.11n nic, and you connect a 802.11g nic to the network, your 11n laptop doesn't slow down. broadcom is a company that makes wi-fi devices, they still use 2 antenna design for their mini-pcie cards, which is slower. atheros makes better mini-pcie cards , and driver is compatible with special builds of linux, that allows to capture packages and "find" WEP codes ![]()

I've been using a Linksys wireless-n router for 20 months now, and so far I have not experienced any issues. My previous Linksys died after 3 years continuous use.

Cheers for the info, Geralt
I guess my new one must be dual band because I'm connected at 72mbps(n) and my mate is connected at 54mbps(g) upstairs. So wireless 'n' uses a much higher frequency. That makes sence 'cos i've had no disconnections at all so far. |

Just found that out
![]() There is an option called: Bandwidth = 20/40Mhz or 20Mhz. I set it to 20/40Mhz and my connection speed has doubled to 150Mbps ![]() |
