Question 4496 driver and unresolved symbols

Hi,

I have experienced unresolved symbols trying to install the new 4496 drivers however my kernel headers are the the same i have used to compile my kernel!!!
Specs:
Gentoo 1.4, Kernel 2.4.21 SMP 4GB, gcc 3.3 (used for both kernel compilation and nvidia installation)

Any Ideas?

Thx in advance
Saski

My log schows the following:

-> Kernel module compilation complete.
ERROR: Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.o'. This is most likely
because the kernel module was built using the wrong kernel header files.
Please make sure you have installed the kernel header files for your
kernel; on Red Hat Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the
'kernel-source' rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel header
files are installed, you may specify the kernel include path with the
'--kernel-include-path' commandline option.

From the README:

Q: I've rebuilt the NVIDIA kernel module, but when I try to insert
it, I get a message telling me I have unresolved symbols.

A. Unresolved symbols are most often caused by a mismatch between your
kernel sources and your running kernel. They must match for the
NVIDIA kernel module to build correctly. Please make sure your kernel
sources are installed and configured to match your running kernel.

Make sure you've got the right gentoo package installed for your kernel sources. This is something that they need to provide for you.
