I'm looking for a video of the GeForce FX Launch Event from fall 2002.
I found a link to the video but it's no longer online: http://event.on24.com/eventRegistrat...2470856670B9CB I'm not interested in seeing the GeForce FX demos, I want to see the full event with all the slides and all the talk from Nvidia's top brass. If anyone has this somewhere, let me know, much appreciated. |

I looked around online a little and couldn't find anything.
You might want to email nvidia directly. They might be able to dig something up for you. EDIT: Wow, I actually found something: http://www.nvidia.com/page/fx_5800.html Damn... most of the links are down. ![]()

Is this for the purpose of comparing their plans and business models with their actual results?

I wanted to see the launch event video because Nvidia had some interesting slides showing that other 3D graphics companies had contributed to the development of NV30 / GFFX with their engineers. companies such as: Evans & Sutherland, Real3D, 3DLabs, among others. Not just 3Dfx. Also, Nvidia mentioned that two entire architectural generations beyond GFFX were in development: The NV40 (what became GF 6800) and the NV50 (what would become G80 / GF800). Since G80 came out in fall 2006, that means it had been in R&D for at least 4 years. I have no dount that Nvidia is working on the next two or three major architectures beyond G80 (NV50) not counting GT200 (would've been NV55 in the old naming scheme) which is just a significant upgrade. Nvidia must have at least NV60 and NV70 in development, not counting mid-life refresh like NV65 (what GT200 is to G80). NV60 would be DX11, while NV70 would be DX12. Anyway, I'm drifting off-topic here. The launch event video was one of the more interesting ones I've seen. Guess I'll have to try contacting Nvidia directly to see if they have it. |

Who knows ? maybe the NV60/NV70 (GTX380/GTX480?) will be designed with the RT-Raytracing approach in mind ?

The Geforce FX was a really bad brand.
Nvdida meant for it to be a disaster to segway into the geforce 6. And Nvidia wanted it to be bad cuz they used 3dfx tech into this and they could use that to further burry the 3dfx name by saying it was their poor technology that flopped in the FX series which wasn't the case but rather Nvidia being lazy to get something bit against 9700 pro and even 9800 pro which desimated the FX. Fx was garbade dude and trust me the video just shows their stupidy and there ignorance toward the FX line.
