Default which NVIDIA driver for redhat Linux7.3

I am searching the driver for my Linux 7.3.

My display card :GeforceFX 5200

i am just running in Text-mode,i cant running X-Windows

The latest driver should work fine for you. It's a self contained installer, so there's no need to worry about your kernel, distro or whatnot. Just download it and 'run' it as root.

Modifying your XF86Config is another matter, though.

Basically, change the driver name from "nv" to "nvidia" and a few other tweaks (please see the release notes).

As for the text-mode you currently have, that's because the "nv" driver doesn't work with GeForce 4 of FX cards (weird, huh?) Those cards require the "vesa" standard driver.

Anyway, install the nvidia drivers and you'll be set in no time.

The "nv" driver works fine with later boards - you need to update your X installation.
