those shots are w/ 3x3 supersampling and still dont match those 'in engine' montages or any of the other shots taken at 5000x3000 and downsized massively. also he had framerate high of 10 fps on 2 8800gtx in sli, meaning it was probly averaging in the 1 to 2 fps range.
Only said it was possible, with this generations hardware u cant have a smooth gameplay with those kinds of settings. You'd just have to wait. I just wanted to point out that its possible to get similar kind of quality and antialiasing with the right setup and right settings, then if its playable or not wasn't a part of my statement. Btw nice pics there, but what is the AA settings hes using? 9x SSAA, 3x3 supersampling you say? Never heard of that setting before.

if 2 8800 gtx in sli avg less than 5 fps, it will be many years before crysis is playable at the level of quality in those pics i linked you to, which is still a ways off from those "in engine' shots. do the math. we are talking minimum 6x6 supersampling needed to maybe reach the quality of those engine shots

Runs well, looks nice, and I enjoyed the combat. CAPCOM also included a functional gamepad config utility so I was able to use my Xbox Controller-S without any issues. Feels like a very solid port.

2048x1536, 2xAA (no Adaptive AA, forgot to turn it on), 16xAF

Those are not bull**** shots, they are real. But they doesn't represent the ingame graphics because those pics are mountages. However u can get similar kind of detail and anti-aliasing if you use certain settings. And speaking about those vidoes you talking about. The E3 tech demo is just a custom map with a custom TOD, nothing more. The graphics wasn't better before just different. U can easily achieve the same kind of graphics if you put some love and time on the map and the TOD. Here's a few good examples:

Its all about what settings and what TOD you use, and how you put the map together. I think i made my point, please stop this BS with "crysis looked better before release" and "Crysis doesn't look as good as they showed us in the early tech videos" It's not true!
Excellent post, and so true. TOD is what its al labout, the balance in the colors, tones and lighting.

Sure but that AA level is out of reach especially for a game like Crysis. Still you can get pretty close with sane levels of AA or heck not even AA but EdgeAA + AF. Besides even 3 year old games can bring a SLI set down on its knees at ultra HD + insane AA levels. Doesnt mean it will at 720p with moderate AA levels.
