Sig Images. Yay or nay?

Both are better than that giant text sig you are sporting. Seriously text siggers are so n00b. Get a image sig and be l33+ish.

MikeC already said he didn't like them and is planning to disable the support for them when he gets a chance.

I've always been in favor of them since I joined nVNews. Glad to see they are here, but with the file size restriction to 19.5KB, it's really hard to get a good Sig made. I must say, though, they don't quite have the same effect here as they do on a Gaming Clan's website, so if they get removed here, no biggie.

Maybe there should be an overall Signature rule, like Ubi.com has on their forums;

Yeah, 500x100 is a good size and the max I would suggest. Problem is, there is nothing keeping members from adding the SigPic along with their giant TextSig. That's why I suggested the 4 line rule for text as well.

I think it should not be allowed to use txt and pics in sig... one or the other.

The problem with the picture sigs is that we lose all the system specs.

Kinda sucks for a PC hardware enthusiast site...

I think mullet is the only person with their specs in their sig image.

Um so? Some people don't care to display their system specs. If you care so much about it then keep displaying yours. It's optional... not recommended.

I think the text sigs are better like Capt said. They are useful when someone asks a question or if you have the same setup or are thinking of getting a piece of hardware that you see someone else has you can ask them questions. They are much more useful in that regard than say looking at a sig pic and seeing that for instance Gib McFragger is bound by metal.

Same here Gibster. I could care less if you were bound by metal or duct tape like the other night at Big Man's big shin dig.
