What's more, if Intel really pulls off raytracing with it's Larabee card we may begin to see the end of Windows as the dominant PC gaming OS since raytracing is pretty much platform independent (i.e. you don't need DX to do it). Just food for thought.
too bad mac is too proprietary and would never release it to everyone

I thought for some reason that OSX needed SSE4 instructions to run and I thought the older AMD chips only had SSE3.

backwards. OSX needs SSE3 instructions to run, but can be done with a workaround. most older chips only have SSE2. since the Venice core, AMD has had SSE3.

furthermore, intel's new chips use SSE4.1

how long did you wait? i had to wait for almost 15 minutes before i got to the OSX installation screen.

pop in the disc, boot it and walk away for a while. come back later and see if it loaded.

ok here's what i did

i got the kalyway thing and burned it to a dvd
im pretty sure i burned it right
i mean, it boots, but it doesnt seem to be working

i dont hit F8 or anything i just let it boot by hitting enter, is that right? idk
anyways, then i get a firewall error, and a SAM mutlimedia fail thing, and then it says Still Waiting For Root Device and it just keeps repeating that line over and over

you might need to press F8 and enter some boot options. InsaneMac forums should have the info you need.
