8800GTX works fine for everything except Crysis and it's not worth the outlay to upgrade for one of these new ones right now. I'll see what ATI has to offer but most likely will be waiting another six months or more. |

+1 My 8800GTX is perfect for Playing @ 1680X1050 with Max settings ![]() Although i would love to get one i must resist! I need to finish building the Rig for my Bro... and build a new one for my mom.[so money is tight] I actually played MOH Airborne last night @ 1680X1050 16QXAA 16XAF and it was awesome.. So my card still has some life in it. [i bought it in Feb 07]

Now if you're running more than one monitor, it makes sense. Otherwise, it makes less sense. |

It may lose @ max fps...and it could be due to its higher shade clock...but the GTX280 defiantly has a better min fps...and this could be due to having 1GB of memory on it...which is sad because if 9800GX2 truly had 1GB of ram to work with...it might win..

I thought I read they were EOL'ing the 9800GX2. If so, don't wait too long.

Dont be ridiculous. For one thing the games that the 9800GX2 are ahead in are just by the skin of its teeth and the others that it loses in are by a pretty good margin. I really cannot believe that you could be so naive that you would judge this cards performance off of launch drivers. |

How can you be so naive to think that better drivers will not give the GTX 280 a performance boost? I mean really? and as for overclocking you obviously have not even bothered to research it because the 280 overclocks great. You GX2 guys who already plunked down all that you could spend are just pissed off that a better single card solution is on the market and you should have waited just a bit longer before spending your $$$. I have seen this same thing happen time and time again with previous GX2 cards and its always the same. Give me a single card with a true 1gb of vram and a big bus to go along with it and watch that card sing at high resolutions with high amounts of AA and AF and at the same time watch your GX2 become completely crippled under the same settings. |
