I have tried to update my XP using the Microsoft Windows xp Service Pack 2 disk but end up with my computer hanging. The desktop icons can't be moved, no modem is recognized, and there is no task bar at the bottom of the screen. Also, when the computer is booting up the message "please wait" is displayed several times.I downloaded a critical update program which wa supposed to correct the problem but that didn't help.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to update will be appreciated. I have an 80 GB drive, and 512 MB of memory. |
