Yeah I also remember them saying that DX10 would bring performance and graphics improvements far beyond what DX9 was capable of...

DX10 is a joke right now and will be for a little while.

If this is the case then my Opteron 165 @ ~2.6, 3gb DDR @ ~550 and overclocked HD 3850 should kick this game's ass at 720p (the resolution I game at)!!

I'm ok with this announcement whether it's marketing hype or not. It does give a baseline that I can work with, lol.

I'm sure it will run on that machine at those settings.

But I will triple guarantee you that those settings of "high" won't look the same as Crysis on "high".

True true, DX9 very high hack was better in perfomance (lol) but I wonder how many had object motion-blur in DX10 very high when comparing. Since object motion-blur doesnt work in DX9 (well it is borked, broken and CPU emulated) and would make it unfair. I've yet to emigrate to Vista so I cant make my puppies run it in DX10.

You know that could be, high=> medium,,, very high => high,,, ultra high => very high!

But then you would only need around 7900GT/GTX perfomance for a smooth experiene.

Object Motion blur is possible in DX9... has been for awhile, they opt to lock it out to make DX10 look better.

Its borked, blocky artifacts becouse it is emulated by CPU. Precision is far less than when a GPU does it in DX10.

Maybe in Crysis but in actuality DX9 can accomplish Motion Blur perfectly and identical to that of DX10.

We are talking about Crysis though. Then you have techdemos for windows XP which have object motion-blur but those seldom run on the DX API.

At least they somewhat pointed that crysis was unoptimised, people spend ****load of money and at end for nothing, lazy coders.
