Do you get overheating issues with your GTX 280 ? - Page 3

yesterday when playing crysis it took about 20-30 minutes for the card to climb to 105c, at that time it started to stutter.

Wow, this is disappointing. I'm waiting until the Fall for a new card. My 8800GTX is still good.

This is in game temp ,but look at the spike's and no, furmark is 85 load, see alittle performance issue from time to time, andbody else see this?

My EVGA GTX 280 took a crap after 2 days

Now I must send it back for RMA.

****Artifacts like crazy in bios, windows, and it gamez.....

Not cool at all. I would think EVGA would have better quality control to at least test these new cards and not make us test them for them.

i have a Point of View 280 GTX. My case isn't very good, i use only 8 x 8 cm fan.

The gpu temperature get up to 100 °C when the case is closed, but if I open laterally not exceed 95 ° C (even after having played for 30 to 40 minutes to crysis)

in your opinion my card suffers from this overheating issue?

to be excact is not additional fan, re-allocated fan to be excact.

I hope everyone realizes eVGA is probably scoring the most heating issues because they sell the most GTX 280s. Case and point, probably for every Asus gtx 280 sold, eVGA sells 10. Something like this would completely explain the disparity in the poll numbers.

The better take-home is probably just that GTX 280s have overheating issues, regardless of who you buy yours from. I certainly wouldn't increase this chance by buying one of the overclocked ones!

IMO, a video card should be developed for the least common denominator, which would be a poorly ventilated case.

Yep the main point still remains. 65% total of the users in this board are getting overheating issues with their 280's. (so far)

At the same time, keep in mind that I wouldn't be on this forum if I wasn't having any overheating issues, and I'm sure that goes for quite a few other users as well...

My two cents is basically, shame on nVidia (if true) for rushing the card, and I agree with chappy above - it should have been aimed for the lowest common denominator, so it would run stable in bad conditions, and run wonderfully in good conditions.

I can see myself getting into an argument with OCUK at the moment about RMA costs, them and BFG won't pay for the RMA shipping costs for me to return my item..and considering it's value it'll cost me a good 30 pounds at least!

It's strange how GTX260 aren't having problems. They're pretty much the same card. Not complaining though
