'r_usePOM 0' doesn't work for me. Is that the right command?

You have used "con_restricted 0" first right?

Ah, cheers. It's working now. What should I have r_texturesstreaming on?

Uhh.. the standard, regular good old direct x 10 path.. you know, install the game
in Vista, update to 1.2 Crysis and launch game...

Tweaks ? Uhm, does having a freshly formatted computer with no bloatware count ??

What's so hard to believe.. lol

I already stated it doesn't run as well as the Dx 9 path, as everyone knows but it's certainly very very playable, and with 16xAA I'll take it.

I think you should turn it off. It has something to do with better looking distant textures if i remember correctly.

I've just enabled 16xAF for the first time . It looks great . I'd rather have AF than POM I think.

D'ya think they'll ever get DX10 working better or is this it?

I noticed that the standard Crysis benchmark had severe stuttering under Vista64 with both systems that I had assembled. I installed Windows XP on both systems and the benchmark playback was silky smooth. I really want Vista to work, but it looks like I'll be sticking with XP for now and setting up a dual boot to Vista like I previously had.

i'm very happy with vista64 and crysis. running the game at 1680x1050 with DX10 in VH (shadow, sound and shaders on high). Game looks better then custom DX9 config.

FPS is from 30-60, no stutter.

well to be excact i had a stutter before, but that was because of overheating GTX 280 that was reaching 105c, after i fixed the overheating problem, it never stuttered again.

now my temps(GPU) in Crysis never go over 75c.

How does the standard benchmark run on your system? Does it pause or stutter at any point? There were three areas during the benchmark where pauses were noticeable. Even without the pauses, the playback wasn't very smooth. I never got around to checking actual gameplay. Maybe Crysis plays better than it benchmarks under Vista. Maybe it's driver related.

@Revs, Thanks for the benchmarks. That's exactly what I was looking for. I get around 25fps with the GPU benchmark in DX10 all VH at 1366x768 on my current system and the single player game is very playable. So, with the 280 scoring 30fps in the GPU benchmark at 1080p in DX10 VH the single player game should just fine. I'm still waiting for some 4870 1GB benchmarks but I'm almost sure that in the end I'll get a 280.

@MikeC, with my 8800GTX, at 1366x768, all VH, DX10, Vista x64 I only get minimal suttering in the first run of the GPU benchmark. After that it runs smooth. Generally, gameplay is very smooth for me also.
