So I'm wanting to install XP after I just installed iAtkos but I'm afraid it's going to jack up the bootloader. Any hints anyone?

Well I haven't had the best of luck with Mac OS X on my Vostro. I STILL cannot find drivers for my wireless card and I'm starting to experience some weird issues. If I use Crossover (WINE for Mac) or VMWare Fusion, my wired ethernet connection just about refuses to work, causing me to reboot the entire laptop.
I also installed OS X over my Windows XP Pro install (2 separate partitions) and although the Darwin bootloader picked up both partitions, Windows XP does something really funny. Everything loads up just fine . . . except when you put in your user name/password, it will "log on" and log right back off, kicking you out to the log in screen. I don't know what I'm going to do with this one. I want so bad to run OS X as my primary and Windows XP virtually but it looks like another "you can't have your cake and eat it too" situations. Looks like I'm gonna have to stick with Windows XP Pro or Ubuntu Linux for the laptop. |

Is there a list of laptops that easily accept osx?

I've kinda given up on this for my Vostro, but that's ok. I've got Ubuntu working pretty good on there and I'm going to try a few games out. If those work, then I will keep the setup just like it is. If that doesn't work out, then I will just have to go with Windows XP Pro.
It sucks that I can't really use OS X on my Vostro, I was really hoping it would. |

Turns out Ubuntu runs quite well on my laptop. TF2 works with DX8 lol and I'm installing Windows XP Pro virtually right now.

I got Kalyway 10.5.2 installed on my rig. See sig below. But I cannot get the Netgear wg111 v2 usb wireless adapter to work. I checked the HCL for 10.5.2 and it is listed as working perfectly with the RTL8187L drivers. I installed those. it shows up as an ethernet controller but I am not sure how to enter the SSID, wpa key and stuff. How do I configure those? I posted in the insanelymac forum but no one's replied. Right now I have a cable running across the floor and it has tripped me a few times already!!!!

![]() remember, it's exactly the same as a mac. so you need to see how to setup a wireless card on a mac and you have your answer. |
