I just had to delete over 20 posts from the MGS4 thread because people kept feeding the troll. If he bothers you, put him on ignore.

I "singled you out" because he reported your post as "harassment" and the last time this happened it turned into 5 pages of crap.

I'm not trying to defend anyone, I'd just rather not have to clean up another mess in a few hours.

I was already hostile from the other thread though I didn't respond to him there. But it was uncalled for in the context of this thread. Though I don't have a lot of other adjectives for someone describing a barbarian dismembering zombies with axes as a "fairy tale".

True enough I fell for the troll-bait here, my mistake, but you can't tell me you don't see right through that? Post some inflammatory stuff to rile people up then report the ones that respond? In the future I'll be more vigilant. I would appreciate a PM instead of a public scolding though.

You're right, sorry about that Ninja.

I didn't mean to single you out. I was just trying to nip this one in the bud.

That photoshopped screenshot does look pretty cool.

But people who complain that D3 doesn't look dark enough compared to D1 & D2 seem to have forgotten about some of D2 that wasn't dark at all.

Act II in D2 took place in a sunny desert and bright eastern buildings.

Not to mention the game ran in 256 colors. And even with that a lot of areas had bright reds, greens, yellows, etc.

Discussion over, after so many criticism Blizzard has said thas colour is your friend. They have been really fast to respond to the community.

Quote:
“One of the things that we considered when we were working on the visuals for ‘Diablo III’ is the fact that color is your friend. We feel that color actually helps to create a lot of highlights in the game so that there is contrast. A great analogy is like in ‘Lord of the Rings’ — not everything is dark. It allows you to see what a creepy dungeon can be like but if everything is dark it doesn’t allow you to have a lot of contrast.”
Quote:
“‘Diablo I’ and ‘Diablo II’ are darker, and I think that the one of the main reasons why is the fact that in ‘Diablo I,’ you’re basically in a dungeon the whole time. And in contrast to ‘Diablo III,’ you’ll be exploring outdoors, you’ll be in dungeons, you’ll be experiencing so many different areas. We want to bring as much variety as we can when you’re playing the game so that you’re excited to check out new environments. We don’t want everything to look the same and that’s really what we’re trying to aim for. What we also tried to do is create very clean textures so that you can really focus. It’s a stylized feel and in that sense, it’s very sort of a Blizzard philosophy. It’s just really pushing the envelope in terms of the visuals so that everyone is excited about how everything looks. We think that ‘Diablo III’ is going to be better in so many different ways. We’re just building and improving upon the the first and second ‘Diablo’ games.”
