Default GTX 280 to drop about $90

Well, it looks as though Nvidia will be dropping the prices it charges its partners for the GTX 280 by about $90. The retail cards should also drop in price about the same amount. I wonder if Newegg offers a price guarantee? maybe we can get a credit for the price drop?

It's a logical step after seing ATI performance. And it could be even lower in august when 4870x2 hits the streets. It's great to have ATI fighting again, it benefits us all

Nice. If they throw that $40 MIR that I've seen on some of the other ones, it's going be be a lot more tempting.

Dropping "to" $90 and dropping "by" $90 are very different... you got me all excited for nothin'!

He said "to drop about $90".

Did you really think the card would be $90?

Either way, ATI is back and that's good for everyone.

Nah, I didn't think it'd drop to $90 for the public, but maybe that they lowered the manufacturing cost by a ton or had a roadmap for the price drop or something.

Hehe, I also thought dropping the price to 90 seemed a tad excessive..
