The article mentions two reasons for the price drop: First, the GTX 280 is not selling as well as Nvidia hoped. Second, ATI's new HD 4800 series is performing a lot better than Nvidia hoped. Both of these factors are likely to push the price of the GTX 200 series down even more.

Yeah, I'm waiting it out. I may even go with ATI for the first time in my gaming history (I missed the 5xxx series debacle as I didn't even have a computer for 2 years).

Yes, because clearly I come across as the person who would believe that nVidia would drop the price of a $500 product to $90 for no reason what-so-ever, when they would likely be losing quite a bit of money for selling it at that price, invalidating the point of being a business with almost no royalty fees.
