Okay this is Furmark with the new EVGA card. I ran it for ~ 10 minutes and stopped when I saw it reaching 100C (very slowly) with 100% fan (automatic). Right away temps dropped rapidly and soon after so did the fan speed.
What would be your verdict? Good or faulty? ![]() ![]() ======================== EDIT: This is from a session of Crysis for over 30 minutes I guess. No crashes and left the fan speed alone (it went to over 80% automatically when the temp was ~62C). Don't pay attnetion to the temp and fan speed it's showing in GPU-Z as I quit the game and both decrease extremely rapidly (the 64C was when I just pressed 'Quit'). Just look at the hardware monitor; to me this sound more right than my previous card. It did seem to have a bit more trouble with some parts in Assault? Or it could be just me? ![]() If this card is good; maybe it's worth putting it in the bottom slot to get it away from the NB heatsink? |

Thanks guys! Time will tell as my 'old' one was fine for about a week. Oh - I got ~61C load in FFOW. In Furmark it kept rising slowly and I quit myself @ 100C. It took the whole time to slowly creep to 100C though.
EDIT: I saw 87C again in Crysis after an hour but that should be okay I think ... |

Given that you can get a 280 GTX for only $430 from NCIX, I thought about getting a 2nd 280GTX, but given the failure rate on these things, ordering one online is not something I'd feel confident in doing, at least not until we see a revision of the 280 GTX or whatever is causing these overheating issues is resolved.

I saw 87C again in Crysis after an ~hour but that should be okay I think ...? I must add that it a few seconds peak; most of the time it was lower (in the 70'sC).

If your card is working without any apparent issues, consider yourself good to go for the long term. |

Well, I just got a BFG GTX OC 615. It reaches 105C in less than 4 mins with Furmark then it stutters badly. My case is well vented. House is air conditioned @ 23,5C.
Contacted BFG. Waiting for some news.
