i know, if GTX 280 drops to about $400-440 area i will buy it again. if it stays at current official price of 499 and 4870x2 is 550, i might grab 4870x2.

but before i decide on 4870x2, i need to see more benchmarks from wider range of games, normal idle temp and much better crysis performance.

And Crossfire usability/stability across a wide range of games. Based on ATI's history, it may work great in one game but either require a new driver or not work at all in another.

(Yes, I know NVIDIA cards can have these problems, but they've been far, far less frequent in my experience having owned both brands of cards dating back to the GeForce2 MX and Radeon.)
