"You have 14 days to register and upload a qualified invoice to claim your EVGA Bucks. "

14 days from what? I just found out by this thread today and registered/submitted everything today. So do I still get my cash back? I bought my card on 06/17.

Nope. My last card was an 8800 Ultra, and I had 8800GTX SLI before that.

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...postcount=1333

Before that I owned a 7950GX2 and a 7900GTX. So:

You = fail.

There's nothing "fanboy"ish about stating the reality of a given situation. Am I glad that ATI is back in the game? Yes I am. Competition is good for the industry and for the consumer since it lowers prices across the board. If it weren't for ATI, Nvidia would still be taking your money at 500 and 650$ a clip. And yeah, I'm also taking a little pleasure in the fact that Nvidia's market share is suffering a little due to them overpricing people at ridiculous amounts for their products. I would feel the same way if ATI had acted in such a way. It's unethical business practice. I mean, we're not talking a few bucks here; we're talking 150-200$. That's a lot of money.

Kudos to Nvidia and their vendors for offering cash back to early adopters, but at this point it looks bad from a marketing standpoint and the public eye. It reaks of damage control and desperate measures, and it also more clearly displays what a bad move it was to price the 260 and 280 so high to begin with.

The 2nd-half of this statement I agree with, but for the first half, I ask so what? At least NVIDIA and its vendors are attempting to make things right. You only typically get price protection on an item if you buy it from a brick and mortar store if it comes out at a lower price within 14-30 days. You never get anything like that with purchasing online, save for Amazon. Such are the risks of being an early adopter.

Yeah. This is really ****ed up.

Some people here paid €550,-. Which is a staggering $880 USD!!!

I payed €400,-. Which is STILL $640,- We are ripped off here in Europe... Again!

They should start giving Europeans money back!

It will be interesting to see how this strategy pans out at NVIDIA's next financial quarterly report, which will certainly be mentioned. I think it's a positive move for consumers, as shown by the feedback thus far, although investors may disagree.
