some bs fee that came with the monitor I think. Must be a new law..or maybe its been around. What angered me was that there was no warning.

i picked up my evga gtx280 FTW today. popped it in. ran first level of crysis, then one level of cod4 and some f.e.a.r. never went over 77c. so i'm happy with that. i was nervous the first few minutes hoping it wouldn't hit 100 and have to rma it. so i played an hour and half straight and no issues...............very happy. now to try some other games.
people have been complaining about the noise but i never even noticed the card was running. compared to my previous ultra i never noticed it being louder. maybe i haven't stressed it enough. but will find out eventually when i do a few hours of gaming straight.

Just installed my step-up 260
![]() Using the 177.66 drvs and what a diff from my 4870! It's running a lot cooler and I can't hear the fan! The "flickering" is gone from AoC and ME, so I'm happy ![]()

I just received my Gigabyte GTX 280 yesterday. Running it @ 666/2500. With the fan set to 60% it idles @ 42c. With the fan set to 80% it hits low 60's under load in everything I've run (3DM06, FEAR, Stalker, Bioshock, SS2) except Crysis, which goes up to 70c/72c.
At 60%, the fan is inaudible over my other system fans. At 80% I can definitely hear it over my other fans, but I can't hear it while gaming. I supposed that has to do with the five speakers blaring in my ears and trying to stay alive in whichever game I'm playing. ![]() BTW, running @ stock speeds the card was 100% stable with the fan @ 60% for hours of gaming. The only app that went over 70c was Crysis, everything else topped out in the mid 60's. I run the fan @ 80% because of the OC and since it's not noticable to me while gaming. It may be stable even OCed @ 60% fan speed for gaming since.... ...folding over night for about 8 hours @ 666/2500 with the fan set to 60% had a flatline in rivatuner @ 64c this morning. Needless to say, I love this card! ![]()

Got a gtx280 and I really like the card. Got sick of Sli profiles and love the power of this single card. Running human head demo for 15 minutes gets the gpu to 80 celcius but this seems fine to me.
This card is a lot quieter than my 9800gx2. I don't miss that card.
