wow, i can't believe anyone actually bought these CPUs
i'm with OldOfEvil on this, ditch the FX-74, just like AMD ditched it faster then it released it. back the video cards, 2xgtx280 if you are going to keep that rig.

I'm with the guys above. ditch the FX-74 & simply get a fast C2Q system.
for the video cards : 2x280's.

$1,600 bucks for a CPU? you must be crazy, especially now.
in about 2-4 months Nehalem will be out, if you really can spend that much on CPU wait for Nehalem.

LOL especially considering the fact that a Q6600 can be had for $180.00 and very easily be clocked to 3.4+ghz.

This is an excellent deal. You can get 3.4ghz on air, sometimes requiring a tiny bump in voltage depending on the individual processor (I run mine @ 3.1, stock voltage). If you apply good thermal paste you might even be able to achieve this with the stock fan.

But as the others have said I would go with a Q6600 for now. Nehalem is just around the corner take those extra Benjies you save and hold off for a Bloomfield wtfpwnage machine if you really want. Here's hoping with the destruction of your current board/procs they will finally be the last of the Quad Father's to fall.
