Default Mount & Blade Medieval Action-RPG

Calradia is a land at war, a land offering great riches and even greater dangers to the adventurers and mercenaries that flock to shed their blood on its soil.

With unerring courage and a strong sword, an unknown stranger can make a name as a warrior. Raise a band of hardened soldiers, become the lord of several towns and castles, and perhaps one day you may wield the power to depose kings and crown new ones at a whim.

Features:
Free-form sandbox gameplay. You are free to go anywhere and do anything you choose in a world that has more than a hundred unique locations, including villages, castles and towns.

Unique horseback combat. You are able to attack your enemies on your horse, whether you’re swinging a sword, holding a lance or unleashing arrows.

Highly advanced, sophisticated and intuitive sword-fighting system.

Fight on horseback and on foot using an expansive variety of medieval weapons, each with their own unique characteristics, strengths and weaknesses.

Be anything from a lonesome adventurer to a commander of armies or an owner of villages, castles or towns.

Sophisticated AI that will provide a challenge both in combat and in the strategic realm.

Freedom to interact with hundreds of characters, including kings, lords, ladies, commoners as well as heroes you can take on as companions, each with their own personality.

System Requirements:

PC with 512 MB of RAM,
Graphics card with at least 64 MB memory
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/Vista
700 MB of hard disk space.

graphics don't look great, but the idea behind the game is good. maybe the gameplay is decent

Hasn't this game been out for years?

I thought it was also an MMO.

Maybe that was an old version or something...

It is the best medieval combat simulator ever, few games even try mounted combat but this game makes it perfect. Theres castles and cities to siege and conquer, kings vie for power and generals rome around fighting and razing villages. You become a general (maybe king) and can lead well over 100 soldiers into battle. There's money system, inventory and loot systems, really the only thing missing to make this game perfect is that unlike oblivion the world map is just a 3d map you click to make an icon move around untill you reach a battle or city/castle then it goes into 1st or 3rd person.

Graphics look almost as good as source engine. Its single player. Tons of RPG elements, gotta kill stuff to level up, save money for weapons/items ect... I'll post some pics in a sec

this is small battles

the city of tihr

heres the devs website: http://taleworlds.com/

They have sold licenses to the game for years, and as they develop it they release a new version to paid customers for free.

you can download version .960 for free here (its legal ): http://taleworlds.com/mb_download.html
lvl cap at 6, and you can remove it by buying the game
