Question Framebuffer console

Is it possible to use a framebuffer console on an Nvidia card? (I.e. so "text" consoles really run in a graphics mode - so I can run at the native resolution of my LCD monitor.) I've tried using the VESAFB with no success.

I've also noticed that even after I've loaded the NVdriver module, I get no devices in /dev/fb/ [I'm using devfs].

yes, it's possible but you should REALLY avoid this as it causes crashes when you switch between X and the FB console.
