AMDs videos are hardly all that either. The female model they use in all their demos now is horrifically funny looking. And its script writing is done by the worst writing ever. I could come up with better scenes to play out when I was 12 playing with my transformers and GI joe figurines..together...

Renders like the one you showed are obviously a lot different than real time rendering, since there is no limit to what can be shown in a picture when you're spending hours rendering a single frame in a proprietary environment like 3d Studio or Maya (rather than OpenGL or Direct3D).

It just seems odd that with all of the amazing advances in hardware and ray tracing technology over the years, real time ray tracing demos generally look like ass outside of the reflections...

am i the only one that cares that it took 4 multi core qaudros to do this at 30fps not impressed yet.....look at grid shadows and reflections with ultra high mod just as good

Yeah, every year graphics advance and ray tracing remains mostly the same, its just getting less impressive as time goes on because current technology is getting amazingly good at "faking" everything that ray tracing is good at.
