Maybe 55 micron, Faster clocked and GDDR5 but with 256bit bus with similar bandwidth but cheaper to produce boards. Nvidia may indeed take back performance crown but I just don't see it being that significant. I am waiting on Nvidia 55 micron process to see where I will go. At the moment I see no need to upgrade, ATI would be my choice if I was going to upgrade but tomorrow maybe different.

Isn't this statement a bit obvious? I mean the industry is constantly moving forward with new hardware coming out every couple of months, so isn't it already expected of nvidia to come out with something to topple the current leader and then vice versa? I mean this can't come as a surprise to anyone..

Besides ATi is also coming out with faster and smaller 4870's at the end of this year, so it's going to be interesting to see who gets the crown this second round. It's nice to have some competition again!

I think the message is clear....

ATI has failed with the 4870X2.

Even Nvidia refers to the 4870X2 as a single card:

Seems pretty evident to them that it's a "real" single card solution. Considering it also runs on a single PCI-E slot, I'd say you're in the minority here and need to go back and consult Plato again.

Post Re: NVIDIA says it will win back performance leadership this year

At B3D, you can read that the ROPs used in the nVidia cards are not in the same league of bandwidth efficiency as ATi's. Nvidia needs 32, while ATi can use 16. If the GT200b goes with a GDDR5 256bit bus and only 16 ROPs, the card will run much slower, in special with AA & high res. They need to keep all the ROPs & increase the bandwidth, or design a more bandwidth efficient ROP unit.

Slappi is just a troll.
Luckily NViDIA knows better than some NVIDIA fanboys posting in this thread otherwise why would they try to win the performance leadership back.

Clearly for marketing reasons.
Maybe you need to stop believing in the companies marketing machine and stop being a puppet...

Just think about it and do not get so frustrated again.
You have that bad tendency in this forum that got you banned the previous time...

Here's how you can judge which one of us, between you and myself, is a "puppet."

When was the last time you owned an ATI card? (be honest)

When was the last time I owned an Nvidia card? About 6 months ago.

There's your answer.

Well the majority in this case includes Nvidia, since that is who I quoted. Which further renders your argument baseless and illogical.

You simply have no idea why "single card" description is being used, like it's so difficult to get it, unless math is your big problem.

Sure it has 2 GPU but your description of being "sandwich" also doesn't apply. The ATI x2 cards are using ONE PCB. The last NVIDIA GX2 card was still using TWO PCBs, that's where the term sandwich is used.

Since you also have some problem to get it maybe pictures will help.

Since you have no idea what you're talking about maybe it's a good time to start believing what the majority says.
