Default nvidia agp for SIS 741 chipset

The lack of support for the agp chipset SIS 741 in nvidia's linux driver forces me to use kernel agp. But kernel agp still conflicts with hibernation.

So in the end I can only use my legacy card (geforce 3 ti 200) in PCI mode. At least, hibernation and resume from hibernation DO work in this constellation.

Nvidia, I really wish, you would add support for SIS 741 (found on K7S41GX motherboard by Asrock) in your next legacy driver release, and also in the "normal" driver release.

But since I fear, this will never happen, here is another question:
Did someone hack the drivers and add support for SIS 741 or other chipsets?

I only ask for this because I hope that using nvidia agp (instead of kernel agp or no agp at all!) will still allow for hibernation and resume to work...

thanks, Petersen

Nobody tried to edit the source code and built in support for SIS 741??

70 views so far, no one has an idea?

Sad to see that nvidia only supports a small selection of chipsets. :-(
Why not build in support for that SIS chipset in a new legacy driver?

There are no plans to add support for additional AGP chipsets to the builtin NVIDIA AGP GART driver (NvAGP). If you experience power management failures with AGP enabled using the Linux kernel's AGPGART driver, please report this to the AGPGART maintainer and/or your kernel's distributor.
