Unfortunately I do not understand that post. I cannot get into an X GUI. How can I make a report and post it if I cant even get in.

have you tried kubuntu in a recovery mode...choose recovery mode from the grub bootlist...then... choose to recover X which should give you a safe nv driver (crappy os driver but works for the most part).
then you can use synaptic or whatever to get the proper nvidia driver working... |

Yes I have done that and I am good to go. I am just trying to get the card to work properly with the right drivers and abilities I paid for.
I have tried pulling the driver/nvidia settings off of Synaptic but with the same problem. |
