Default NVS 285 not working in Ubuntu

I've two PL1711M LCD screens,

Using the restricted drivers, i can only get one monitor working, while the other is stuck in 640x480 res. nvidia-settings tool doesn't allow me to set it at a higher resolution, nor does the gksu displayconfig-gtk
command.
