Default Screen Saver / Power Saving Off

Hi,

whatever I have been trying: xset s off b off, setterm -blank, BLANTIME in XF86 ... I can't get rid of the screensaver. I am running a mini-config such that I have configured the .xinitrc to launch my OpenGL based app (and by doing this using twm as window manager) .... The screen nicely blanks after a couple of miutes. This is not just restricted to the above mini-config, but also does happen in KDE.
Any hints how to turn of screen saver?

There are many screensavers that can be set and they can all blank the screen.

You have named a few, but did you also check the "power saving" setting?

I want to get rid of all screen saving and power saving ... the screen should show the desktop all time ... no saving, no blanking ... I have found out that for me power saving is not the issue, but the settings of the screen saver ..
If I am running KDE and use control center to turn of screen saver all is fine -> I get no activation of screen saver ... But I am running a mini-config using twm ... there, I'll try to turn of the screen saver from the console using commands such as xset, but this doesn't work-> screen saver happily jumps in :-)

Default dpms not screensaver

You're probably confusing dpms with screen saver... try xset -dpms
but just to be sure do:
xset -dpms s noblank s off
that will take care of it
