Turn it off with "r_TexturesStreaming 0" after putting "con_restricted 0"

"e_lods 0" turns off the LOD system so things don't pop-up

My thoughts exactly. This is a fun game but it feels a bit cheap to me for some reason.

Very good looking game, and performs great. I about to attack airfield. It has been quite a ride so far.

I got my main computer back earlier from the repair shop than expected. Installed Warhead and so far I'm very happy with the performance. Probably have to turn down a few settings when I get later in the game. My HD 4850 is currently running 1280x1024 with everything on "Gamer" except Textures which are set to "Mainstream". Still looks great and it seems to play smoother too.

I'm loving it so far, I look forward to play the game this weekend. After I finished the game, I probably try out if I have room to increase a setting or two.

Still surprised how well Warhead ran on my second computer with a 7600 GT. Even though just at 800x600, I was able to crank up some eye-candy like high shaders and still get nice gameplay. Under the original Crysis the game felt much slower and stuttered quite a lot.

^ I do believe there is an option to do that, but I don't know how as I never done that.

The difference for me, it's hard to explain, is just the better feeling I get in Warhead. Everything seems to respond smoother in this game than in the original Crysis. Then again, I can't shake the feeling they've degraded some of the graphics but it still looks very impressive.

I did have to put Textures on "Mainstream" because of that irritating 'popping' in and out of textures. I had cliffs which looked very fuzzy and ugly, and the real texture never came in. Also I noticed often stuttering as that happened. Lowering the textures to "Mainstream" really improved my performance and game experience and it still looks great. I do hope this will get fixed in a future patch. I have 3 GB of ram, unless the 512 mb on my videocard is a limiting factor.

I was wrong about the texturepopping and vidram, I saw it now too. If I remember this also showed up on the 32 bits exe in Crysis, so a future 64 bits exe will clear this hopefully.

Talk about an ordeal to get the game running. Firstly the damn thing wouldn't launch until I installed Gamespy (later uninstalled), then had to reboot otherwise it would crash to the desktop. No biggie. Then I find DX10 mode is completely broken for me. Performance is appalling. So I switch to DX9. Much much much better. Looks great and plays great, that is until I find the Steam overlay is causing me to get blank screens on level loads. Finally have it running ok played for a couple of hours then just then the game stops responding. WTF? I've got the latest drivers, a solid systems for everything else.

Am I alone? I hope so. Hate to think Crytek would take a step backwards after Crysis. ::

I got that blurry texture on the mountain too, some wierd LOD stuff going on.

Overall I am enjoying it, though. About to do the sub part.

There's some AI issues, too, some guys where literally standing right next to me and not even attacking.
