Finished it today.

** Spoilers **

I had a bugged Train mission, where you defend the cargo after it stops. I cleared all of the aliens and it wouldn't advance, I looked around for a stuck one and nothing. I restarted it and finished it. It was wild.

I really liked the indoor one (frozen ship) and I loved the icy stuff. There was more standard indoor areas on this one (instead of that floaty cave) and the regular cave one was great, reminded me of Half Life 2 Episode 2 (the mine). The lighting and flashlight part just looked great. It was cool when you wake up after the explosion and there's the green flare, the lighting was excellent.

The end was good although easier than Crysis. It wasn't until O'Neil was talking to me that I realized I was even doing damage to the thing, I kept firing at it and it didn't seem to make a dent.

Although shorter, I enjoyed this more than Crysis.

Agree 100%, just finished today as well. Had the same bug on the train last night while playing though. I enjoyed this more as well but liked how they tied things in with Nomad.

I just got this game today.... any config advice? I htink I will play it at 1920x1200 with everything on Enth./gamer using DX9. Is DX10 still slower as it was with Crysis?

Yeah Psycho cries like Rambo did in the first movie too. Not like that cold bastard Nomad. Not one tear shed when his mates were killed.

I've played around a lot with configs in the original Crysis and I must say that they improved lightning a lot in a lot of levels, which was the greatest reason to custom Crysis together with things like DX10'ish water effects etc.

Warhead has improved quality/performance ratio and I think it looks just right on the developers own settings, it looks really natural. Many config tends to overexaggerate different effects, contrasts, shadows, color, sharpness etc., I actually think most of it looks worse unless you want to play a cartoon or funky lightning game. Just play in a combination of gamer and enthusiast that you can accept, though you are probably pushing your system really hard with 1920*1200. Several people have been promoting the CCC config file as being performance saving in Warhead even though it's designed for Crysis in combinations with TOD settings not available for warhead. If you think it plays horrible, you should check that out. Otherwise just stick with the game unmodded, they really improved it over Crysis IMO

Oddly enough I can play this very smooth at that resolution in DX9 with Enth settings. All I have set to Gamer is Shaders, Shadows and Physics Average FPS is around 30... dips to the lower 20's at times... but very playable for the graphics I am getting out of it

Ah I personally wouldn't lower shaders because it's one of the settings that does the biggest difference visually and is well worth the performance hit IMO. I think the only settings I lowered was shadows and eventually in the lowest performing snowy area post processing and shaders as well. I can't see lowering physics making a big difference though, I'd leave that at enthusiast as well.. But as long as YOU are content with the results, it's all good, just make sure you know what you are / are not missing
