I have been using linux for over three years, and I love it. However don't think of installing it on the latest hardware, and as many said if you wanna game keep a partition of windows.
I have three machines that run linux in my house, all are older machines but they are stable and fast. To all the mac lovers out there, it's just Unix with a shiny GUI and some pretty good apps. However you have to buy overpriced hardware to enjoy one of the oldest operating systems in the world. |

Come on Nekro any geek who loves software/hardware loves linux. It isn't as bad as you make it seem, and you just need to try the right distro. Truth be told you probably already use it every day in some embedded device and didn't even know it.
Also Zoomy it isn't about the price being free, but the code. ![]() |

to me - i can no longer live in fear..
viruses? Spyware? bot nets? rootkits? - those are 100% ineffective. stability is great, easy on the hardware and i dont waste CPU cycles trying to keep the bad guys out. |

I use Ubuntu on my personal laptop and it works great! I run into a few issues every once in a while, but it's just because I try things like Wine for gaming and the latest builds of certain programs that crash Ubuntu. If I could leave it alone, my laptop would be 100% stable lol.
