Default nVidia driver crashes X server.

Hi,

Starting from 177.67 nVidia driver crashes X server (177.13 was the last version working ok). Tested on KDE 4.1.2 and 4.2. Error is easy to reproduce when you add new plasmoid, or even use terminal and try to right click - 100% crash rate.

I think that you enabled BackingStore, disable it when your running with Xorg 7.4

I don't really see anything related to nVidia... Crash source is there FontFileCompleteXLFD and that's it.

try explicitely disabling DAMAGE-support if that helps

I think younker had the right idea with disabling backing store. The FontFileCompleteXLFD in the backtrace is bogus, it really starts at #16 (main) and the crash is occurring in miHandleValidateExposures at #2. It's not obvious exactly why that function would be crashing, but it doesn't look like it can gracefully handle being called in the middle of a window tree manipulation like MapWindow. I'd be very surprised if this were an NVIDIA driver bug.

Well spotted!
