that is poorly written app then. try with some HD media and correct H264 encoder, it will load 100% on all cores. and use every single resource available.

I dont even have a TV capable of HD or set top player for HD, so thats not something I even care about. I can re-encode 700 MB AVI of a DVD in 6 minutes so its a very well written app. I can remember years ago taking 10-12 hours to re-encode the same sized files. H264 encoding will be done by our GPUs soon anyways with CUDA.

that is my point, xvid and divx encoding doesn't use all cores on quad correctly. those type of codecs are just old and can't use up the multi-core recourses correclty

Well thats fine, but I have no interest in encoding to H264. And if and when I ever do I will be able to use my GPU for that.

Im really like this game. It's alot grittier then other WW2 shooters which is much needed. It always feels like there is a large conflict going on, even when solo. Yeah the graphics aren't earth shattering but they accomplish the goals just fine, when its raining it looks great and the game looks nice and dirty like war is.
I think the only complaint I have is that the games strutcher (?). Too generic at times (sniping mission, tank mission, ect...) They should have done something unique like maybe having to control a larger squad at times (30 troops or something). Yeah the AI isn't the brightest either but it never detracts from the fun and the story is really good. Im really interested in Bakers story, feels much like a Band of Brothers game... |

One thing they did with this game that’s simply brilliant is the controls for crouch and aim down the sight. If you hold down your crouch button and then let it go you stand up but just tap crouch and you stay crouched. Same with aiming, tap it for toggle or hold it down and release. They’re probably not the first to do it but I thought it was pretty nice. No need for four different button assignments or toggle options.

Why does it seem like everyone other game has broken AA? Come on, its 2008, we shouldn't see jaggies these days. Direct X 10.1 was supposed to make 4XAA mandatory... which is probably why nVidia doesn't support it. I guess we'll have to wait for DX 11 cards to come out before we see AA in all our games again.
