Troubles with SuSE 8.2 Headers
There is another thread in the forum that address the first half of my problems, but it stops suddenly due to the fact that the posters had RH9 and were willing to roll back their kernels. However I am not, given the security issues solved by my new kernel. I am running:
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run --kernel-include-path /usr/include It gives me a message saying that is can not find: modversions.h Now I have looked everywhere and still am unable to find this file. Plus from the last post on the thread sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run/PLEASE HELP it says that simply coping the file does not solve the problem.

Same here ...
Updated SuSE 8.2 online and ever since my Nvidia drivers won't install 'cuz I constantly get this "unable to find the kernel header files" error. Installed 4496-pkg2 drivers over an out-of-the-box SuSE install and everything went beautifully smooth. Updated my system and BAM! - a kick in the a$$ is what I got for it. At one point my screen was offset from my cursor so I could only guess what I was pointing at. Then I UNINSTALLED the NVidia drivers so now I have my desktop and cursor synched, but now I can't install the drivers anymore!!! |

Did you follow the SuSE instruccion?
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/sup...ler-HOWTO.html I update the Kernel for my Athlon and later I install the Nvidia driver for my GEForce 400 MX and works.... ....my problem is other story  |
