Microsoft decided Windows 7 final name
Microsoft announce the final name for Windows 7 will be called Windows 7.

I'm looking forward to 7. The new 'Live' feature basically give me a Exchange server without needing an exchange server...

The thing is why the hell is it called Windows 7 when the releases are numbered 6.1. I know 6.1 is not exactly a great name but it seems to me they are getting ahead of themselves.
Windows 2000 = 5.0 Windows XP = 5.5 Windows Vista = 6.0 Windows 7 = 6.1????  |

For the record I like the name Windows 7, its just that it should be the name of their next majorly revised OS. They've told us themselves that this will be an evolution of Vista, so why a whole new number!
