Problems installing on Ubuntu Hardy
I'm trying to install177.80 on the latest, fully updated, Ubuntu 8.04. It has the linux-headers-2.6.24-21 kernel.
I'm running into a few issues, which I've fixed via googling. The first was make prepare failed as it could not find asm-offsets.[s|c] and the second was the Makefile could not find autoconf.h.
I've got past these problems but the installer is still failing with:
ERROR: The NVIDIA kernel module was not created.
ERROR: Installation has failed. Please see the file...
Greping the log file shows that there are no errors, and the progress bar hits 100% while building in the module.
It's a relatively new install and doesn't contain (too much) cruft, so I'm really confused to why it doesn't work. I'm already running 177.70, so I didn't have this problem compiling the first time.
The installer log file is attached, thanks in advance for any help.
