FarCry 2 Feedback Thread (PC) - Page 11

Sigh. Downloaded from Steam while at work, all excited. Start up the game, audio pops and then goes silent during campaign loading screen. All sound is hosed until restart. Update to latest drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS from Creative, still get pops during load, but it works. Get to the hotel scene, pops again, goes silent.

Anyone else with audio issues? This is under XP x64 since my Vista has been hosed for awhile now.

Yep, I love the smell of new games. That's part of the reason I still buy retail boxed games.

I didn't try with dx9 yet, but with dx10 the mouse lag is insane, makes the game unplayable. Gonna try if using dx9 solves that, but that's a crap solution anyway...

Deleting or moving the intro videos usually works.

He means the actual in-game intro. It's pretty long and it's just you sitting in a jeep listening to the driver talk.

No Capt was correct, I mean the startup UBI video. The videos are nowhere to be found. All files seem to be in large compiled files of 100mb or more.

Is anyone else having issues with the DX Version option not showing up?

I am also experiencing the dx10 mouse lag issue. It really makes the game far less enjoyable. I sure hope they get it corrected in a patch. Also, I am not impressed with the physical speed of the gameplay. I feel like my character is crawling along. I was expecting the actual speed to be much quicker.

As far as the graphics, they are definitely not as good as crysis. Even on Ultra High, vegetation and shadows noticeably pop up in the foreground. Also, the level of detail, to me, does not appear to be anywhere near as high as crysis. By that I mean that the attention to detail in the environment itself does not quite seem as good as Crysis. The game definitely has a less realistic feel to it. It really reminds me more of like a SOF3 just with some better lighting. The sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous however. I think I need to spend a little more time with it to fully appreciate it.

Holy crap, the Map Editor is so freakin easy to use. This will definitely inspire more people to make maps.
