Just wanted to point out that the newegg link you posted isn't 120hz. If I didn't watch sports I would not care, but being able to turn it on during football made is great.

The motion blur is just too much without it, so you may want to consider that.

Samsung does make some great HDTVs, especially latest ones. I really like their contrast ratios (even if it's dynamic, it can be turned off)... they can produce some deepest black than anything else in the market.

Series 9 is impressive with 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

I've had a 46" Samsung DLP for close to 3 years now and its still going strong. Very awesome picture, still comparable to some of the new tv's coming out, although not quite as good. Samsung makes great LCD's as well, we have a few of those in the house also.

Here are two I'd recommend:

40"

46"

The specs are average for lower priced LCD but one thing surprised me and I can't understand why 1080p panel would only support 1366x768 max resolution in computer format.

Necro, I wish I had seen this thread sooner. If you're still undecided, wanting 37-47", and $1200 or less, here you go.

Samsung 46" 5-Series - $1254.99, no tax, free shipping

Samsung 40" 5-Series - $998.99, no tax, free shipping

I ordered my TV through Amazon, and they use an actual delivery service, not UPS/Fedex.

LG did this once and they paided for it bad style.. i.e you noted 60Hz, 1080p this means HDMI only connection at the hz and highdef player to be complatable ..

not many screens that are like that now.
