I have just found this cool benchmark, it even supports DX 10.1:
![]() - Support of DirectX 10.1 multisampling features - Performance boost - Procedural grass - Multisampled deferred buffer, which allows combination of light scattering with anti-aliasing - Pixel Shader Model 3.0 support is required now, so minimal supported hardware is ATI Radeon X1xxx / NVIDIA GeForce 6xxx - Additional AMD CrossFire optimizations - Correct detection of NVIDIA GTX series - Per-pixel dynamic lighting - Normal & parallax occlusion mapping - Different models of shading: Phong, Oren-Nayar, anisotropic - 64-bit color HDR rendering - Volumetric fog and light - Powerful particle systems: fire, smoke, explosions - Extensible set of shaders (GLSL / HLSL) - Postprocessing: depth of field, refraction, glow, blurring, color correction and much more - Support of pixel shader 4.0 model - Real-time ambient occlusion - Light shafts - Unique materials system with support of parameter's hierarchy - Special materials for vegetation - Dynamic irradiance environment maps - Live water with a surf zone and caustics - Native support of stereo 3D devices ![]() 4xAA on DirectX 10.0 ![]() 4xAA on DirectX 10.1 Will download and post results as soon as I get home

Fact of the matter is your card does not support DX10.1- as such in that benchmark by default it was only using DX10. As you can see the card only supports DX10, not 10.1. |

Redeemed, nvidia cards support portions of DX10.1. truth to the matter is that Far Cry2 only uses parts of DX10.1, parts that work on both brands ATi and Nvidia.
Nvidia is missing few requirements to be fully DX10.1 compatible. Far Cry 2 might be called DX10.1 game, but doesn't use all that DX10.1 has to offer, it isn't much to begin with.

Granted, DX10.1 doesn't add much to 10.0 (from my understanding of it), it does not change the fact that nVidia's lineup isn't officially "DX 10.1 compliant". My GF5900U can run 3DMark06, does that mean it fully supports DX9? No. My 5900U can also run Crysis, does that mean it must fully support DX9? No. Fact of the matter is the GTX200 are not "DX10.1 compliant" parts. |

Meeting part of the DX10.1 requirements does not make the card fully DX10.1 complaint. The NV3x architecture supported everything except SM3.0 for DX9- yet they weren't fully DX9.0 compliant as that would mean complaince with 9.0c. Really, we're just nit-picking here anyways. Not that it matters. I was only pointing out to Athlon that his card does not support all the necessary features to be a DX10.1 part. |

![]() If you look at the thread title, this thread is about Unigine's Tropics Benchmark. Athlon made the comment about there being no difference between DX10 and DX10.1 on his system (referring to FPS I assume). He was then informed his card wasn't a DX10.1 part. He made the claim it supported 10.1 in FarCry 2 (not I). I never once denied that it did. I merely informed him that, technically, his card is not a DX10.1 compliant part. There, are we okay now? ![]() |
