At the Omega driver site, I read that he turns off enhanced cpu instructions in opengl, in his drivers by default. I had often thought that perhaps disabling this may eliminate any confusion that the os or the game or even the cpu was in over the use of the mmx, sse, and 3dnow instructions. I am running a xp1800 and a gf3ti200 on a nforce mobo.
I have normaly had lateral lag when moving in games, and generaly poor performance.
Once I disabled the enhanced cpu instructions, everything smoothed right out. You might want to try this for a boost.
It may help some out.

Good tips, also I ran UT2K3 in OGL and my FPS dropped quite a bit. So in my case I will be sticking to DX for the game. Of course I can't live without my Aniso

ok, ive got the craziest speed tip. im getting a constant 80fps in the indoor deathmatch level, and a constant 60 fps in the outdoor one. i saw this on the ina forums, ill give a link as well.

basically go to ur ut2003.ini in the system folder of ur UT2003 directory. press ctrl-F and search for 'mouselag' (without the speech marks). now edit the line which says 'reducemouselag=true' to say 'reducemouselag=false'.

this sounds stupid, and i didnt believe it, but it seriously does boost fps.

heres the thread on the ina forums :

http://www.ina-community.com/forums/...hreadid=205743

btw, just read on that thread that the benchmark.exe uses a different .ini so u wont see fps boosts using the utility, unless i guess u modify that .ini, but i havnt tried that yet.

that mouse tweak does improve fps pretty much but totally nerfs the mouse movement. It's not noticable when there are no bots/players around but when u get close to someone ur aim goes extremely slow. I would rather take the 10fps performance hit than the messed up mouse movement..

yeh, thats the side effect. my accuracy still hasnt suffered too much, i.e i still own at this game . when im just wandering around with the mourselag thing off, i get some insane fps compared to before, on the indoor level im getting like 100 fp +. but the moment a bot/player appears things go down quite a lot, also in big battles things drop down to wat they were before. still nice to see 100fps in a game that looks soooo damn good.

im still pretty good at it too but its very annoying when you get in close and want to headshot someone with the LG or pull off a shock combo.

I dunno if you guys heard this yet...but if you go into your Unreal2003.ini and change Mouselag to FALSE you can get a nice boost in fps....some have gotten as high as a 30fps boost....

i hardly get below 30 now...schweet...and thats in a 8 bot instagib fest in Asbestos....

on the downside, if you have a NON optical mouse, your aiming might be a bit off...
