I really want to enjoy this game, I really do. But I can't play it for more than say an hour straight without it crashing to desktop (gpu temps don't hit anything higher than 75c gpu1 and 65c for gpu2). Is this game very sensitive to overclocks? Running 178.24 here, if that makes a difference.

try the 180 drivers, and make sure you have the latest directx (november 2008 update), one last thing make sure visual c++ redist is updated, i believe the current version is 2008 sp1.

new lvl cap mod is very essential to keep playing. maybe now i can get all the perks

yeah it is bit annoying. but i think that was the case for Oblivion also.

No i never had to tick it

I only selected the lvl 30 one though, but not having any problems with it.

it lets you level up to 30. Also 40, but the game will crash when all skills reach 100. :
