Not the biggest fan of the look. I don't like fat taskbars and the start menu having recent and frequent folders instead of useful sytem stuff??? I'm sure it will be better on the whole, but I just prefer the vista taskbar and startmenu by the looks of it.

(6801) 64bit is running on my system, It's rock solid stable so far. I played Left 4 dead for a hour and it ran great even had microphone working and multiplayer, not a single crash so far and only a couple of things that are keeping me from making it my primary OS, like daemon tools installer isn't working right atm, logitech g15 drivers install and work but some of the lcd applets crash.

It's like vista perfected, its faster than vista, less overhead (currently using 15% less memory than vista) more usability features.

vista drivers work fine in win7 nvidia 180.44 , xfi SBXF_PCDRVBETA_US_2_18_0006 after setting installers for vista compatibility. Dual monitors also works.

jesus christ, the OS is still an alpha build, its out only to showcase some of the new features we can expect sometime next year or the year after that....

I don't think those articles mean anyhting. If you read the comments people say things like "well there weren't any major performance improvements in XP in the final 12 months! There probably won't be in 7 either..." But I don't agree with that. There were some improvements in Vista in the last 12 months but I do understand they weren't huge ones. However, the situation is different this time. They don't have a new driver model, the thing has already got a lot of its final features. These 12 months are gonna be quite a different affair to the final 12 months of Vista dev.

They've already claimed it runs on a netbook without trouble. If 12 months from now that is not true then I will be very surprised.
