Question NV Geforce 2 MX RH 9 problem

I have athlon xp processor with asus A7N266 -VM motherboard which has nvidia Geforce 2 MX integrated . Recently i installed Red Hat 9
kernel 2.4.20-8smp and display worked fine except for it is taking NVIDIA Geforce 2 MX generic driver so i downloaded the drivers ( i .e
nvidia_kernel -1.0-4180 and simmiler GLX file ie i chose AMD 64 and installed it it gave some error while installing the GLX file like cannot create //var/usr/lib64 ......... something like that
then i tried to edit XF86Config file changed things as per instruction but then display wont start so changed it back to original value now my display works but it is using the generic driver what should i do to get the driver installed
Please Help
Your Help is Greatly appreciated

Unhappy I did that ! but still shows Geforce 2 MX(generic)

Hai,
Thank you for your reply i did the installation as per IA 32 download but still if i go to the display shows nvidia geforce 2 MX (generic) and also my moniter is not detected properly it is showing as unprobed moniter ( i manually set the frequencies ) and i am using the Samsung Samtron 56v moniter.
Though my display has no problem ........

hi

It does not matter what the name of the card is as long as as the driver name is "nvidia" if you really bothered about the name just type in a new one .
